About SEND Workflow Studio

SEND Workflow Studio was created by Simon Kyndt, a senior leader working in a specialist SEND provision.

The systems have grown from real school and college workflows: assessment, annual reviews, curriculum planning, evidence, reporting, intervention and the everyday challenge of helping staff work consistently without adding unnecessary workload.

Before moving into SEND, Simon worked as a mainstream Science teacher. He has now worked in specialist education for over a decade, with a focus on curriculum design, assessment systems, reporting processes and the practical use of Microsoft Excel to support staff and leaders.

Why SEND Workflow Studio exists

Mainstream education has access to a wide range of assessment platforms, curriculum resources and reporting tools. Specialist SEND settings often face a different reality: adapting systems that were not designed around highly individualised learners, non-linear progress, complex evidence, annual review processes and wider preparation for adulthood outcomes.

SEND Workflow Studio was created to help bridge that gap.

The aim is to build practical systems that reflect the reality of SEND provision, rather than asking SEND settings to reshape their work around tools built for a different context.

Built from practice

Shaped by the reality of working in SEND settings, where progress can be small, uneven and highly individual.

Designed around the provision

Systems can be deployed with minimal variation or adapted around your curriculum, levels, pathways and reporting needs.

Consultancy-led implementation

More than a set of files. Implementation includes setup, adaptation, guidance and support to help staff embed the workflow.

Designed for specialist settings

SEND Workflow Studio is built for specialist schools, specialist colleges and wider SEND provisions that want clearer, more usable systems for:

✔ annual review workflows

✔ life skills assessment

✔ English and maths assessment

✔ curriculum-linked progress tracking

✔ evidence and reporting

✔ maths fluency practice through MathGems

The focus is always on making information easier to record, easier to understand and more useful for staff, leaders, learners and families.

❝

Assessment and reporting systems should reduce duplication, not create it.

They should help staff capture what matters, support leaders to understand the bigger picture, and make progress easier to explain to learners, families and wider teams.
